There’s magic in the woods if you allow yourself to feel it. Countless walks and I still always seem to come away a little different. It could be the joy of hiking with my crazy dog or that cleansed feeling after breathing away stress or the thrill of finding treasures like mushrooms or a feather. Sometimes the change is in finding a resolution to a problem or making a tough decision. Sometimes it’s giddy breathlessness from laughing with my best friend. My love of time in the woods has helped me to walk with my eyes wide open. I started taking pictures of the trees and woods surroundings about twenty years ago. Seeing a tree that refuses to follow the rules, or trees that hug and kiss, or trees that defy gravity fascinates me. I hope you are inspired to explore your surroundings and find the beauty and magic of nature. I’ve been amazed by the defiance, resilience, sensuality, humor and strength of these beauties. Sharing my thoughts and photographs is very personal and a little frightening. I had to find my bravery – the trees need to be seen! My intention is not to offend but to intrigue. Now, go hug a tree.
